A few years ago I served a feast for a VIP of whom at the time I did not know the name. Usually, I personally appear before the guests to make certain the service and dinner was to their approval, however, on this occasion, since we were hosting a very special guest, I spent my time in the kitchen ensuring proper assembly and presentation of the dishes. Amid the hectic service, I received a request to make a special cake called “Paris-Brest”. Although somewhat frantic due to the last minute request, I tried to mask my panic well and when asked, “Can it be done?” I smiled and answered, "Of course!” As with any guest, I always attempt to honor their requests no matter how big or small. The unknown VIP guest who requested the dessert must have been very pleased. At the conclusion of dinner, he entered the kitchen, introduced himself, and invited me to New York while handing me his business card which read "Donald Trump".
