During the pre-construction of Cabo Wabo, Sammy Haggar was travelling on tour with Van Halen and we needed his approval on the architectural blue prints. A few days after sending the documents to Sammy, we received the blue prints back via fax with an approval signature. We began the construction process and by the time Sammy finished his tour and returned to Cabo, the building was complete and we were preparing for the grand opening party. Entering the building, Sammy was shocked by the huge dimensions and size, so he asked to review the blueprints he authorized. After scratching his head, he finally realized that the measurements he approved were in meters, not in feet as he was accustomed. No wonder the place seemed three times larger than what he imagined.
