My daughter was three years old when we lived in Punta Cana and since then she has had an affinity for the kitchen. One day, she insisted on joining me at work and upon her persistence I agreed. Perfectly dressed for the occasion with her own apron, chef ’s coat and adorable hat, she received much attention from my colleagues. Suddenly, she tugged at my coat, whispered in my ear, and stampeded out of the kitchen to the “little girl’s room”. I quickly followed behind her ready to assist if she needed. A few minutes prior a gentleman asked to speak to the chef and, by sheer coincidence, his table was located between the kitchen and restroom. The guest looked perplexed as he watched my daughter walk out of the kitchen toward his direction. Seeing his expression, I explained that the young chef was actually my daughter. She immediately turned with a concerned expression upon her face and said, “Yes, I am his daughter but I am also the chef.”
